Child Abuse written by, Kenneth L. Watson

Child Abuse

The unfortunate and very disturbing events taking place in this world not only sicken me but put me in a state of worry.  For the life of me I can not understand why these occurrences are taking place and people choose not to act instead of reacting in these circumstances.

One situation that should not have taken place is the murder of a little girl by the name of India Durant.  Here is the tragic story of her passing.

3-year-old girl murdered in the Bronx, stepfather suspected of crime surrenders

Cops identified the victim as 3-year-old India Durant.

A Bronx man wanted in the death of his 3-year-old stepdaughter surrendered to cops Friday afternoon.

Kenneth Williams, dressed in tan jeans and a red hoodie, turned himself in at the 48th precinct stationhouse in the Mount Hope section of the Bronx just after 4 p.m. He was accompanied by his lawyer and didn't speak.

His stepdaughter, India Durant, was found unconscious just before 10 a.m. Wednesday in her Crotona Park East apartment. She was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital where the toddler died about an hour later.

The medical examiner's office determined Friday that India died of "blunt impacts of torso with internal injuries." Her death has been ruled a homicide.

Williams, also known as Billy Bob, was the only adult with India when she lost consciousness. He immediately called 911 -- an account disputed by relatives -- and waited for an ambulance to arrive, according to his best friend, Brian Newton.

"He was hysterical, crying," Newton said of the stepdad. "He couldn't catch his breath."
India's stepdad, who has eight prior arrests for drugs and trespassing, told his pal that the child started shaking. He thought she needed some air and put her on a chair. Williams later told cops the girl fell off the chair, while he was in another room checking on a 1-year-old boy he shares with India's mother.
Williams heard a loud thump and came running, he told Newton. India was on the floor and going into convulsions.

The tot's mother, Lauren Durant, was at work at the time.
The girl's biological father, Marquis Eaddy, 28, challenged the stepdad's version of events and believes Williams wasted crucial time before calling 911.

"He calls Lauren first and he waits for Lauren to come all the way home from work," Eaddy said.
"All the way from uptown, she had to take the train, the bus, in the meantime the girl could have been saved."

Friends said India's mother and Williams have been together for several years but are not married. Durant is two months pregnant with their second child. Durant also has two daughters from a previous relationship.

A spokesman for the Administration for Children's Services said the agency is investigating the death and the remaining children in the family have been placed with relatives.

EMS tried to resuscitate India as she was brought out of the apartment on a stretcher and Billy Bob was beside her, a witness said.
A neighbor who lives below the couple said she's heard constant chaos from their apartment for two years.

"There was screaming and yelling coming from up there 24/7," the neighbor said, who wouldn't give her name. "It was non-stop. I wish I would have called someone. I wish I would have said something. Maybe the little girl would still be alive."
A makeshift memorial was set up outside the apartment building Friday with flowers and handwritten messages saying "RIP India" and "I love you."

"She was just so sweet and innocent, a little baby," India's grandmother, Sharon Eaddy, said.

The statistics of child abuse "Nation Wide" are not misleading in any fashion, but rather staggering in every way known to individuals that possess a soul.

In this entry I've  choice to share them with you from the "National Child Abuse Statistics"      site.

>A report of child abuse is made every ten seconds

> More than five children die every day as a result of child abuse.

>Approximately 80% of children that die from abuse are under the age of 4.

>It is estimated that between 50-60% of child fatalities due to maltreatment are not recorded as such on death certificates.

>More than 90% of juvenile sexual abuse victims know their perpetrator in some way.

>Child abuse occurs at every socioeconomic level, across ethnic and cultural lines, within all religions and at all levels of education.

>About 30% of abused and neglected children will later abuse their own children, continuing the horrible cycle of abuse.

>About 80% of 21 year olds that were abused as children met criteria for at least one psychological disorder.

I hope my latest entry could reach you.  I pray if you know a child that is suffering from this terrible dilemma, that you find the heart to reach out and help them!

If you or someone you know is a victim suffering from child abuse, call this hotline:

Thoughts Of Tupac Shakur

Instead of posting an entry with my own thoughts this month... I have chosen to post a several quotes of by my brutha Tupac Amaru Shakur... I hope you will enjoy it and realize the message behind the mind and life of one man's experience...

"I believe that everything that you do bad comes back to you. So everything that I do that's bad, I'm going to suffer from it. But in my mind, I believe what I'm doing is right. So I feel like I'm going to heaven."

"I feel like Black Jesus got his hands on me and guides me through life to put me where I'm supposed to be..."

"I feel like role models today are not meant to be put on a pedestal. But more like angels with broken wings"

"It always happens, all the niggaz that change the world die, they dont get to die like regular people, they die violently"

Secure With Thy Self- Written by, Kenneth L. Watson

Secure With Thy Self

Is sexual preference or way of life a real way to identify what potential an individual has?  Ignorant assholes believe being a homosexual means you will contract HIV... AIDS... And even worse....  Be sent to the eternal depths of hell.  Truth of the matter is....  They're just afraid of what they can not comprehend.  I am a straight black man who is proud to stand for what is right and who needs backing.  Being against those who've not asked to be born in a world of hate and degradation is not the answer by any means.  Those who are afraid need to come out and stand up for your rights of liberty and the pursuit of happiness.  In a report it was quoted by Michael Fleming how he believes doing so is the right move.  "It's tremendously important for gays and lesbians to be out when they make political contributions," said Michael Fleming, who advises David Bohnett, a Beverly Hills technology entrepreneur.
Bohnett, who gave $1.2 million to the effort to block Prop. 8, is one of a group of wealthy gay men who Time magazine recently suggested were seen as "a kind of secret Super Friends, a homosexual justice league" that moves around the nation spending millions of dollars to support gay and lesbian causes and back candidates who back their views.  Now it's time to be free and enjoy your life from my perspective. Who's to say who god truly loves and will send away from the golden gates.  All we can do with our time here on earth is be in touch with who we are as human beings and be at peace with our decision making.  The true answer is just be "Secure With Thy Self"....

Together

Together

Potentially, we as a people can achieve great things in life.  Once united as "One Nation", we could overcome the oppression and degradation we have been facing since the enslavement and/or entrapment of our ancestors.  But why is it that we wait on the posing leaders to bring about hope and success within the communities of which we live?  Most intellects would  be quick to tell us why we won't achieve anything rather than stand up and resolve the issues within the societies we face on a daily basis.  Maybe its the road of past martyrs that they fear of going down or its a method of covering up their true tactics and schemes?  There are some real muthafuckas out there, but a change must arise.  This is why frequently raise the problems of "hunger, insufficient health care, joblessness,  financial security, sexuality and leadership" to you all!  This isn't gonna go away by just demonstrating a bullshit peaceful march or a "what we need to do speech".  I'm speaking on shit we've been facing for so long, that it's time to put an end to the stoppage of the revolution.  We must exercise our rights as human beings and citizens within this world.  The ridicule of racists and politicians is outlandish and down right immoral.  No longer can we turn the other cheek and fail to rise against the evils that hold positions of power and break the laws of which they use to govern us.  With my ability to be a voice I will try my best and pledge to actively change what wrong is going on.  But we as a people must come together from separate tribes and face the global warfare we are heading against as one nation!... It's time 2 FIGHT BACK!

Band-Aid's Last Temporarily

Band-Aid's Last Temporarily
By, Kenneth L. Watson

The world we live in has been designed to set limitations to the plight of our  "Young Black" males.  Not only is it already hard for us to compete with others in this "so-called...  White Man's World", more than ever, we are experiencing entrapment and lost identity with our place in this world.  Too many of our brothers are locked up in correctional facilities, that to me, only band-aid the problems our culture faces day to day.  To accurately defuse this crisis already taking place, we must no longer stand still and watch.  As Jawanza Kunjufu has stated, "Allocating more resources in preventative programs for boys than crisis- often times band-aid- solutions for men.  In a nut shell, the shit clearly ain't working ya'll!!! Even when his incredible and very informative piece of work titled, "Countering the Conspiracy to Destroy Black Boys, Vol. 2, was released, these facts were realized.  The question is how can this actually be changed?  I propose actions of empowering the youth as a definitive and very useful tool in correctively building up and developing the skills and moral standards of our black males.  But it must begin with us!  Not their systems which just enslave our children and limit the potential of which our brilliant minds can reach!

Love, Care and Concern

I hope these words find you all in the best of health, threw these trying times we face in the world of today.  With an unquestionable amount of love, care and concern for "Our People", "Our Community" and Humanity as a whole, I ask of you all to be aware!  Have a dier need to know about the shit going on in this world.  Not only does it concern me how we treat each other but the energy we give off effects our society and the generations to come whether you realize or not.  This also goes for all forms and walks of life that we affect on a daily basis.  We cannot wait for someone to speak for us when something is wrong.  We must speak our minds and take action if we expect changes to occur!  All these rapes, genocide, false religious practices and underhanded dealings involving political treachery going on with our governments towards the people of which these politicians govern, "NEEDS TO BE PUT ON BLAST!"....  Don't say I never warned ya'll asses...  We have it happen to us because we are not exercising our rights fully, thinking a black man being president means we could put aside our practices of using our voices to come across with how shit should be in our communities.  Actually standing together instead of bringing eachother down.  What the fuck happened to us?.  I thinkin all that Jersey Shore and reality television bullshit, has gotten to ya muthafuckas heads!... Now I don't wanna come across as a perfect nigga by any means, but I want ya'll to be conscience of the shit we see happening around us.  Sign of the times my people!  I have to be poignant with ya'll it seems to get my point across.  From now on, let's show these muthafuckas how much we care and give a fuck when its time to make a decision that will affect us all!  Fight Back!-  Kenneth L. Watson
